Instructions

    1
Drink 8 Glasses Of Water a Day!

    Step 1- Moisturize

One of the most important keys of growing healthy hair is to make sure your hair is properly moisturized. And if you have dry, curly hair then I'm sure you know this, and in an effort to try to help your hair, maybe you use "hair greese" such as "Dax, Dudleys or Lusters" to try and add moisture. But before you dab anymore of that onto your delicate scalp, consider this:

"Hair greese" suffocates the follicles. Imagine putting a thick layer of petroleum jelly over your nostrils and trying to breathe...if you can imagine, that must be extremely difficult. Well the same is happening every time you rub that "grease" onto your scalp. Your folicles can't breath, so they end up shedding the hair inside of them and closing up, causing your hair to appear thinner.

Instead of using hair greese, try some "extra virgin olive oil!". The ancient greeks used it to care for their hair and for good reason. Olive oil is a natural moisturizer and conditioner. It adds moisture to dry hair, without suffocating the follicle ^^. Its perfect for promoting a healthy growing environment for your hair.

Drinking 8 glasses of water a day will also help to add moisture to your hair, because If your body is properly hydrated, then your hair will be too!

Eat Healthy Foods To Grow Healthy Hair

    Step 2- Eat Healthy

In order to grow healthy hair, your body must have the proper building materials. And by building materials, I mean vitamins and nutrients. Eating healthy foods is the best way to nourish your body as well as your hair. Cutting back on fatty and sugary foods and replacing them with healthy, nutrient rich vegetables such as romaine lettuce, okra and spinach, will provide your body with the vitamins it needs to grow healthy, long hair that won't be prone to breakage. So try looking for creative ways to add nutrient rich vegetables into your daily diet.

    Brush Your Hair Often

    Step 3- Brush Your Hair

Do you remember the old saying, that brushing your hair 100 times a day will help it to grow longer? Well sometimes our ancestors had it right. You can help to encourage the growth of your hair just by brushing it! Brushing your hair stimulates the follicles and brings nutrient rich blood to the scalp. It will also help to open up follicles that have closed due to the use of relaxers or rough handling (tights braids, pulling, harsh chemicals, etc.). Try brushing your hair everyday for at least 5 minutes. Start by brushing the scalp and move slowly down to the ends. This will loosen up any nots that may have accumulated during the day. I highly recommend this if you have thinning hair, a receding hairline or are balding in some areas.

    Use Chis Keratin Mist

Step 4 - Wash You Hair

Washing your hair is also a very important step in your hair care regime. Some people think that washing your hair everyday is better. While others argue that not washing your hair for weeks at a time, will promote growth. But here is a little food for thought. All of
the popular shampoos that are out on the market, use chemicals to enhance your hair. And all of those chemicals, tend build up on the follicle after a while, weighing down your hair and causing it to shed. And not washing your hair for weeks at a time, is not so great either. Dirt and oil will build up between the strands of your hair, causing it to tangle and become matted. Making brushing a nightmare! Plus, all of that forceful tugging on matted hair, can break and further damage your hair. So instead of washing your hair everyday or not at all. Try washing your hair Every 2 days and using a declarifying shampoo once a month to get rid of the chemical buildup. Washing your hair every two days will prevent the loss of too much moisture, while still keeping your hair clean and soft. After you wash your hair, I recommend using Chi's "Keratin Mist". it's a leave in strengthening treatment that helps to fortify your hair and prevent breakage.

    Step 5- Protect Your Hair

When you go to sleep at night, either wrap your hair with a silk scarf or sleep on a silk or satin pillow. This will prevent unwanted friction from destroying your beautiful hair.

    7
    Choose A Flat Iron!

Step 6- Avoid Relaxers (Chemical Hair Straighteners)

If you have curly hair, you might be tempted to straighten your hair. I have nothing against this, I straighten my hair often as well. But the thing that I am strongly against is the use of relaxers in order to straighten your hair. Using relaxers can have devastating effects on your beautiful hair. Sure, they are convenient to use, and maybe the results when you first use them will look great! But those "beautiful" results will soon turn into a horror story. Relaxers chemically change the structure of your hair. They take away the durability and strength from each of your strands of hair, causing them to become weak an fall out. I can't tell you how many times I've heard of relaxers causing my friends hair to fall out. So many of them have thin, damaged hair that they cover up with wigs and weaves. Please, if you're tempted to straighten your hair. Avoid relaxers at all cost. There are better ways to go about straightening your hair. And you won't regret using them later on.

The most safest and effective way of straightening your hair, is with a flat iron. But using a flat Iron alone is not the best thing. You must first apply a serum that will protect your hair from the heat. I recommend using Biosilk's serum or Chi's silk infusion serum. Both of these are great products that will protect your hair from heat styling tools. They will also help you to achieve the silky smooth straight hair that you desire. Chi also has a great line of shampoo and conditioners that will help prep your hair for heat styling as well as add moisture to it. I use Chi's line of products and I love the silky results it has given me.
